Gary's work caught the attention of filmmaker Barry Levinson, who immediately chose Gary to make the furniture for his new "Arts and Crafts" style home in the town of Ross, California. Gary completed more than twenty pieces for the Levinson home. Gary's pieces have made their way into homes from San Francisco to Los Angeles. One home in particular displays two of Gary's recent works next to a dining set of the famed Sam Maloof.
Most of Gary's clients allow him a free hand in the creativity of a commissioned piece. It usually starts with "nature's artwork" as Gary call the natural character and color of the chosen wood. He is then led to shape and design. Gary uses no stains taking special care never attempting to improve the beauty of what is found to be perfect in nature. |
